Barely a mile of rock rides the sea off Ibiza's east coast, and yet its name has travelled further than most islands ten times its size. A Carthaginian warrior may have left it here more than two thousand years ago; a German rock band borrowed it for one of the strangest albums of the 1970s. Today a single family owns the whole of Tagomago, all 1,525 metres of pale limestone, a lighthouse at its southern tip, and one villa whose guest list runs to presidents and pop stars.
